People on the street like to talk to me

For some reason people in foreign countries just start talking to me. Even when it is clear I don't speak the language. Today, a woman at the bus stop came up to me and started talking, I asked if she spoke English, she said "No - no English.", smiled kindly and continued talking. Later on, I was photographing some old run down buildings and this man walked up and started talking to me and pointing at the buildings. I told him I did not speak Polish, I told him I did not understand, I shook my head no, but that did not deter him. He kept talking, and I started to walked away, and he kept talking, I stopped and listened - was I hoping to suddenly understand his language or he mine? I don't know. It felt like he had something important to say and I felt I was almost getting it.

There are lots of scenes such as the buildings above. Many old abandoned buildings, many will be demolished. But some look like they will be refurbished. Old, tired buildings getting a new lease on life. The few days I've been here, that seems to be the vibe of Warsaw. There is history in the landscape, reminders of the past, but the city is looking forward.
