Getting around town

Getting around town is pretty easy on foot or by public transportation.

We mostly take the trams. The come in many varieties - old and new, some air conditioned, some not, sometimes they announce the stops, sometimes there's a sign, sometimes, you're on your own. But one thing they all have in common is the love of erratic braking. Seriously - every tram we've been on enjoys soming to a sudden jerky stop. I don't know if the brakes are bad and they have to jam them on, if they get bored and are having fun at the expense of passengers, or if they are not paying attention.

Some of the cars have video screens that show you the name of the stop, sometimes advertisements and news tidbits, and interestingly, English language lessons.

And look - it's Ronald Reagan!
